Many responses we label as problems are actually protective adaptations to unsafe or unsupportive environments. If the nervous system can adapt to sustain life, why can’t the systems we build do the same?

Carla Scovino is a health professional and neurodivergent mother who advocates for families and suicide prevention from lived experience. She chose to stay, and in that choice, found her purpose. She now shares her journey to remind others that they are not alone, and that staying is possible even when hope has not fully appeared yet.
From that decision, Carla focused her energy on creating innovative models that integrate mental health, movement, education, and human well-being. Her work is grounded in a deeply human, systemic, and evidenced informed perspective.
What distinguishes her work is an uncommon ability to see the entire system from within, integrating the clinical lens, lived experience, and the real-world experience of families, including her own, navigating fragmented systems. This perspective allows her to bridge gaps between care, movement, education, and prevention in ways that are both practical and deeply human.
